Weighing the Evidence of Pediatric Size Bias presents strategies for healthcare professionals (HCPs) to identify language and behaviors tinged with weight bias before they result in a breakdown in the patient-clinician alliance. Feelings associated with stigmatizing experiences outside or within healthcare may result in blame, shame, and undesirable effects on children and their families, adversely affecting decisions related to their health. This course not only helps HCPs recognize potentially stigmatizing language or behaviors in the care they provide, but also provides evidence-based strategies and alternative approaches known to improve trust, rapport, and patient engagement.
