The Patient Experience: Demonstrating Commitment in an Interdisciplinary Team is a series four of clinical decision-making simulations, this module explores a healthcare provider’s responsibility to optimize resources within the interdisciplinary team, to effectively manage time and delegate appropriately in order to meet the complex care needs of patients and their families. The module discusses the limitations of satisfaction survey metrics in reflecting the level of care, particularly in the area of pain management, and describes the role of leadership in empowering staff to professionally and appropriately defuse confrontational but non-violent patient and family situations.
