Risk and Safety Issues in Radiology XVI provides answers to questions related to the radiologist’s role in increasing patient safety, such as: How should a radiologist proceed when pertinent information has not been provided by the ordering clinician? What standards must radiologists adhere to when reporting, communicating, and documenting their findings and recommendations? And, finally, what is the role of a radiologist in the prevention of breast cancer? This course addresses competence gaps in 3 specific areas of radiology: (1) interpretation of images, (2) adherence to established radiology standards and guidelines, and (3) factors that may impede the timely diagnosis of breast cancer.
