Allegations of professional sexual misconduct have increased over the past several years. Although most patient encounters are managed appropriately, experts have found that clinicians need better training to: (1) recognize risky/suspicious behavior by colleagues and (2) follow best practices to avoid misunderstandings and litigation. This course explores the importance of maintaining boundaries, identifies behavioral red flags, and offers strategies to decrease the risk of misconduct allegations, while supporting the provision of trauma-informed care during sensitive medical examinations.
