Analyses of closed claims showed that medication-related events were the fourth most common cause of claims and that 33% were fatal. This course recommends best practices that increase patient safety and reduce risk to providers during routine care and when caring for high-risk groups. Additionally, strategies to mitigate risk associated with high-risk medication or off-label use are discussed.
