Dangerous Workarounds: Surgery explores the conundrum of documented time-outs when a wrong-procedure, wrong-side, or wrong patient operation is performed. How and why does this occur when the record reflects that a time-out was conducted? This course presents OR team communication strategies that prevent the development of dangerous workarounds and encourages “stopping the line” in advance of active error.
