Child Abuse: Recognition and Intervention in Pennsylvania examines the duty of providers to detect and report suspected child abuse, to recognize the signs of factitious disorder imposed on another (formerly Munchausen syndrome by proxy) and effectively intervene, to appreciate the influence of cultural factors that could skew child abuse assessment results, to distinguish age-appropriate sexual exploration from sexual abuse, and to recognize and discuss factors known to perpetuate intergenerational abuse cycles.
