BALTIMORE, MD—Med-IQ is pleased to announce that Sara Miller, MS, director, QI Institute, CE Strategy and Content, will present initial findings from an ongoing quality improvement (QI) initiative aimed at improving birth cohort–based screening for hepatitis C virus (HCV) in primary care clinics nationwide. The presentation will be at the 2015 Spring Meeting of the Society for Academic Continuing Medical Education (SACME).

This initiative was designed to adapt the framework of a successful pilot project and support systems-based transition toward QI in 3 healthcare networks across the country; Med-IQ believes that this expansion initiative will demonstrate that it is both possible and cost-effective to successfully scale QI initiatives to multiple institutions.

“We are honored to share our perspectives on QI and the early success of our expanded QI efforts with the membership of SACME this spring,” said Ms. Miller. “We hope that sharing the success of this initiative will inspire continuing education professionals in academic centers around the country.”

As the healthcare industry continues to evolve toward a value-based model, initiatives such as this are critical. Based on a successful framework for improvement, Med-IQ and its collaborators are addressing gaps in the delivery of care and demonstrating the critical role of education and continuing education professionals.

To hear more insights on QI and its impact on healthcare, please join Ms. Miller and co-presenter Bruce Nitsche, MD, medical director of Continuing Education at Virginia Mason in Seattle, WA, at:
