This course offers an evidence-based approach to understanding and managing interprofessional conflict by focusing on the ethical, emotional, and systems-level dynamics that shape how conflict unfolds. Using a case scenario centered on a decision about life-sustaining therapy in the intensive care unit, learners learn how conflict arises, how it impacts clinicians, teams, and patients, and what strategies to apply when conflict is resolvable—and when it is not. The concepts, skills, and conflict-resolution techniques presented in this course apply across all healthcare settings.
