Med-IQ, an innovative continuing medical education organization, is seeking a Grant Manager to join the Grant Development Department. This is a unique opportunity that requires high proficiency in proposal/submission development, editing, and grant management. Successful candidates will have excellent editorial, time-management, and organizational skills, will be able to work independently to achieve team goals, and will be extremely comfortable working in a fast- paced, team-focused environment with high attention to detail.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Compiling, editing, and developing grant proposals/submission components in adherence with specific requirements; compiling disparate content elements from various authors into a cohesive and responsive proposal/submission package
  • Proactive collaboration/interaction with grant development representatives, clinical content staff, grant managers, grant management director, pricing director, and other department representatives
  • Reviewing proposal requests (such as RFPs), both critically and qualitatively for required elements; developing appropriate components and proposal language to address these requirements; and taking an active role in ensuring adherence throughout grant development/submission process
  • Proactive/creative writing of new grant/proposal language in a timely manner
  • Scheduling grant development/submission timelines; coordinating reviews of submission packages, proposals, and budgets
  • Consolidating editorial changes, aligning proposal text with budget, and submitting proposals for grant funding to pharmaceutical industry supporters and others, while maintaining knowledge about individual submission site requirements
  • Managing grants in process, deadline requirements, new grant opportunities, and operational updates as needed with grant development and grant management teams/colleagues
  • Meeting regularly with grant managers, grant development team, and grant management director, to review grants in process, deadline-driven schedules, and fine-tune operational processes
  • Ensuring records, schedules, and reports are up-to-date in Salesforce and other tracking systems
  • Submitting grant packages, in adherence with specific requirements, with high attention to detail regarding data entry and information gathering
  • Keeping server areas updated/organized, including saving all working and completed documents
  • When grant funding is awarded, coordinating with grant development/project management team to ensure accepted terms of proposal are understood by the operations team
  • Assistance with project reconciliation submissions via online data entry/applications to various funders

Education, Requirements & Competencies
The preferred candidate will possess the following skills and attributes:

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, writing/editing, or related discipline
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite tools, as these relate to document preparation, editing, etc.
  • Excellent attention to detail, project coordination, and time management skills
  • Strong writing and editorial skills (proposal editing & development skills preferred)
  • Experience and attention to detail regarding database entry, reporting, and tracking
  • Ability to conceptualize, organize, and follow operational processes and support the staff in executing them in a timely manner
  • Strong self-starting skills with an emphasis on accountability, learning quickly on the job, and being a team player
  • Suitable temperament to interact and collaborate with experienced, fast-paced staff members within a team-based culture
  • Ability to excel in a deadline-driven environment (consistently following up with colleagues to manage and meet multiple deadlines at one time)
  • Ability to work after hours and sometimes on short notice in order to meet deadlines
  • Emphasis on high quality work and productivity
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English are a must
  • A team player who is in alignment with the company’s culture, mission, vision, and values
  • Experience in/knowledge about CME industry is preferred
