Med-IQ, a Coverys company, is an innovative medical education company based near Baltimore and is currently searching for an experienced Accounting Manager to join our Finance team.

Responsibilities include:

  • Direct and oversee work of accounting team members
  • Provide opportunities for professional development to team members through cross training
  • Maintain cash flow projections and management of cash balances through daily review of corporate bank accounts and credit card accounts
  • Maintain revenue schedule for the clinical grant supported and education services fee for service revenue units
  • Serve as the Finance contact with collaborators, commercial supporters and educational partners
  • Review agreements with vendors, collaborators, educational partners as requested
  • Review project budget reconciliations prior to submission and share in submission activity
  • Attend internal project meetings, such as kick-off and status meetings, for overview of project scope of work and to provide Finance department insight
  • Prepare month-end reconciliations and journal entries to include PTO accruals, WIP adjustment, earned and unearned revenue and maintain related schedules
  • Track revenue milestones established for clinical and education services sales bonus plans and record month-end accrual
  • Serve as the back-up point of contact for users and with support teams for software applications utilized by Finance – Sage 50, TimeWatch, Concur Solutions, Workday
  • Serve as a member of the Workday implementation project team to provide Med-IQ business requirements for the software development and adoption
  • Assist in preparation of 1099 forms
  • Serve as a point of contact with members of the Coverys Finance team
  • Prepare the quarterly invoice for services provided to Coverys policyholders
  • Develop and update accounting policies and procedures manual
  • Perform analysis of processes, expenses, project fees and services, etc. for efficiencies, savings opportunities and pricing updates
  • Coordinate with Human Resources payroll requirements for state unemployment and withholding accounts
  • Serve as point of contact with ADP, third party payroll provider, regarding state notices
  • Prepare financial analysis and reports as requested by senior leadership

Required Qualifications and Competencies:

  • Proven working experience as an accounting manager
  • 5+ years of overall accounting and finance experience
  • CPA Preferred
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
  • Experience in project accounting, general ledger functions and the month end close process
  • Minimum 2 years management experience
  • Software knowledge, Sage 50, TimeWatch, Concur Solutions, Workday a plus
