Inspiring Medical Education.

BALTIMORE, MD—April 8, 2014—Med-IQ, an award-winning, ACCME-accredited provider of continuing medical education (CME), is pleased to announce the release of a new, complimentary, CME-certified educational series, Case Explorations in the Treatment of Multiple Myeloma: A Clinical Cliffhangers Series.

Designed for hematologists and oncologists, this Clinical CliffhangersSM CME series uses an innovative, highly interactive, sequential learning strategy built on the principles of experiential education, learner retention, and application to practice.

During two sequential case-based Webisodes, participants will follow a patient with multiple myeloma throughout the course of his disease to understand the implications of choosing various therapeutic approaches. The activity also explores maintenance therapy and treatment options in the relapsed and treatment-refractory patient.

“The treatment of multiple myeloma has evolved at a rapid pace with the introduction of several new agents over the last decade. While clinical outcomes have improved, decision making has become more complicated,” said William A. Mencia, MD, CCMEP, Vice President of Education and Medical Affairs at Med-IQ. “This educational platform simulates a real-life patient case in which we explore various treatment decisions regarding induction therapy and maintenance regimens to understand the clinical impact of such decisions.”
