Inspiring Medical Education.

BALTIMORE, MD—June 18, 2013—Med-IQ, an award-winning, ACCME-accredited provider of continuing medical education (CME), is pleased to announce the availability of the complimentary, certified CME activity, Strategies for Optimizing Stem Cell Mobilization and Collection.

This online, case-based educational activity features an interactive learning format that includes audio clips of faculty expert opinion and commentary. Developed for hematologists/oncologists and oncologists, it is designed to help participants maximize stem cell mobilization and collection in their patients.

Hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) is an increasingly important therapy for a variety of malignant disorders, including multiple myeloma and non-Hodgkin lymphoma. A key factor in achieving successful transplant outcomes is the production of adequate numbers of hematopoietic stem cells (HSCs) to achieve hematopoietic reconstitution following high-dose chemotherapy and HSCT.

“This CME course addresses challenges in referral for stem cell transplant, current concepts and challenges in stem cell mobilization, current and emerging strategies for optimizing stem cell mobilization, and considerations for selecting a mobilization strategy,” said Mary J. Laughlin, MD, Director of the Stem Cell Transplant Program at University of Virginia Health System in Charlottesville, VA.
