BALTIMORE, MD—March 26, 2013—Registration is now underway for a complimentary, certified continuing medical education (CME) workshop series designed to help neurologists and other healthcare professionals improve diagnosis, treatment, and patient follow-up in multiple sclerosis (MS).

Med-IQ, an ACCME-accredited provider of CME, is sponsoring this regional workshop series, Addressing the Challenges of MS: An Interactive Workshop Series. Nationally renowned faculty will use patient perspectives, small-group discussion, and both didactic and case-based learning to explore the latest clinical evidence and emerging science for the management of MS.

The workshops will be held in 10 cities across the United States:

  • Baltimore, MD—April 6, Hyatt Place Baltimore/BWI Airport
  • Chicago, IL—May 4, The Westin O’Hare
  • Dallas, TX—April 27, The Westin Galleria

  • Ft. Lauderdale, FL—April 13, Westin Ft. Lauderdale Hotel
  • Irvine, CA—May 11, Hyatt Regency Irvine

"MS is a complex disease that presents a variety of challenges to the physicians who diagnose and manage this condition," said William A. Mencia, MD, CCMEP, Vice President of Education and Medical Affairs at Med-IQ. "Considering the variable nature of the disease, its capacity for severe disability, and the pervasive issues of suboptimal treatment response and adherence to MS therapies, the implications of practice gaps are significant. This educational activity will provide neurologists with practical strategies to accurately diagnose patients earlier in the disease course and facilitate the timely initiation of effective treatment, thereby potentially preventing irreversible damage to the nervous system."

Each workshop will be from 7:00 to 9:30 AM; breakfast will be served. Interested clinicians can register by calling (toll-free) 866 858 7434, e-mailing info@med-iq.com, or completing this brief online form.
