Allison J. Gardner, PhD, Appointed Director of Educational Strategy and Content at Med-IQ

BALTIMORE, Md.—December 18, 2012—Med-IQ, America’s most respected continuing medical education company, is pleased to announce the appointment of Allison J. Gardner, PhD, as Director of Educational Strategy and Content.

Dr. Gardner joined Med-IQ as a clinical content manager in 2009 and was named Assistant Director of Educational Strategy and Content in 2011. As director, she now oversees the clinical content team that is responsible for identifying, recruiting, and managing program faculty, facilitating the development of clinical content for various CME activities, and reviewing content for medical accuracy, alignment with program-specific learning objectives, and compliance with applicable company policies and industry guidelines.

In addition, she collaborates with Med-IQ’s grant development team and provides clinical direction for new educational activities as well as develops needs assessments for grant proposals using published medical literature and other evidence-based resources to identify knowledge and performance gaps in clinical practice.

Before joining Med-IQ, she served as Manager of Scientific Affairs at INNOVIA Education Institute and adjunct professor in the Department of Science and Mathematics at Columbia College in Chicago, IL. She also spent 2 years in the Diagnostics Division of Abbott Laboratories.

Dr. Gardner completed her undergraduate education in Pharmacology and Toxicology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and earned a doctorate in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the Johns Hopkins University in 2006. She leads Med-IQ’s clinical content team, which includes 6 professionals with advanced scientific degrees and a wealth of experience in the CME industry.
