BALTIMORE, MD—August 6, 2011—Enrollment is now open for a complimentary, case-based Community of Practice audioconference to address the challenges of treating patients with triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC).

Oncologists, hematologists, and other clinicians who treat patients with TNBC can speak with faculty expert Edith A. Perez, MD, of Mayo Clinic’s Comprehensive Cancer Center, in this live interactive discussion on Tuesday, August 9 at 7:00 AM ET. This educational activity will provide participants across the country with the opportunity to review methods for effectively overcoming practice barriers in TNBC care.

TNBC accounts for 15% to 20% of breast cancer diagnoses and is highly prevalent among young women, particularly premenopausal African Americans. An increased awareness of TNBC, including a concrete understanding of tumor characteristics at the molecular level, is critical to help clinicians improve the detection, diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of this malignancy.

"During this complimentary audioconference, you will have the opportunity to ask me about TNBC treatment strategies," said Edith A. Perez, MD. "I look forward to leading this collaborative forum and hope to speak with you soon."

Clinicians interested in joining this complimentary Community of Practice audioconference can call (toll-free) 800 930 9863 (pass code 21526#) on Tuesday at 7:00 AM ET.

This audioconference was developed in association with the complimentary, case-based CME/CE Webcast, TNBC: Translating Clinical Research Into Optimal Patient Care. Ruth M. O'Regan, MD, of Emory University School of Medicine’s Winship Cancer Institute, joins Dr. Perez in presenting this interactive Webcast which reviews triple-negative tumor histology, the associated clinical risk, and existing and emerging strategies to address the challenges of treating this condition.

This series is sponsored by Med-IQ, an ACCME-accredited provider of CME, and supported by an educational grant from sanofi-aventis U.S.
