BALTIMORE, MD—November 29, 2010—Oncologists nationwide are invited to participate in a unique, new CME initiative designed to enhance the care of patients with lung cancer.

Med-IQ, an award-winning, ACCME-accredited provider of continuing medical education (CME), announces the launch of the complimentary, certified CME activity, Clinical Conversations: A Personalized Approach for Improving Guideline-Based Care in Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer.

Lung cancer remains the leading cause of cancer death in the United States, and non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) accounts for the majority of all lung cancer cases.

“In recent years, several important changes and advances in the understanding and treatment of NSCLC have substantially affected clinical practice,” says George R. Simon, MD, Associate Professor of Medicine and Oncology, The Burtschy Family Distinguished Endowed Chair in Cancer Research, Medical University of South Carolina. “This interactive educational activity provides oncologists with the opportunity to discuss the current body of literature and guideline recommendations as they pertain to these exciting advances and develop strategies to improve patient care.”

Oncologists can now schedule a personalized CME teleconference with one of the national lung cancer experts listed below to review the current evidence and recent clinical advances in the management of NSCLC. During a 30-minute discussion, participants are invited to share their most pressing clinical questions and explore how the latest evidence and updated guidelines can be integrated into their practice for enhanced patient care.

Participants can choose from the following topic areas for discussion:
