BALTIMORE, Md.—September 22, 2010—Emergency medicine clinicians attending the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP) Scientific Assembly in Las Vegas are invited to register for EMCREG-International’s complimentary 13th annual satellite symposium co-sponsored by Med-IQ.

Optimizing Care for Patients With Acute Coronary Syndromes
Wednesday, September 29, 2010
6:15 AM to 8:00 AM PT
Islander Ballroom G/B
Mandalay Bay North Convention Center
Las Vegas
Sign-in begins at 5:30 AM. Breakfast will be served.

“Acute coronary syndromes (ACS) are a common cause of patient presentation to emergency departments (EDs) across the United States,” said W. Brian Gibler, MD, FACEP, FAHA, chair of EMCREG-International and chair of the Department of Emergency Medicine at University of Cincinnati.

Clear treatment pathways, such as the ACC/AHA Guidelines for the Management of Unstable Angina/Non-ST-Segment Elevation Myocardial Infarction (NSTEMI) and ST-Segment Elevation Myocardial Infarction (STEMI) provide an evidence-based approach to the care of these patients in the emergency setting, he added.

“The education of emergency care providers to improve the implementation of these ACS guidelines is critical,” Dr. Gibler said.

This comprehensive, certified educational symposium will review current ACC/AHA guidelines and clinical evidence. Participants will have the opportunity ask questions that will help them formulate practical, optimal strategies for managing ACS in the ED.
