Med-IQ: Inspiring Medical Education

BALTIMORE, Md.—May 8, 2009—Fifty continuing medical education (CME/CE) dinner workshops are being developed by Med-IQ in collaboration with The Endocrine Society to help primary care professionals address regional barriers to delivering optimal diabetes patient care. The workshops will be delivered in major and mid-level metropolitan areas across the United States.

"Each 90-minute workshop will provide an extensive review of the most up-to-date strategies for diagnosis, treatment, and management of type 2 diabetes in the primary care setting," said Jeanne Cornish, RPh, Director of CME for Med-IQ.

The workshop, Optimizing Diabetes Care: Successful Clinical Strategies, will be in your region on the following dates:

  • Fresno, May 21st, Fleming's
  • San Francisco, June 11th, Harris' Restaurant
  • Las Vegas, June 17th, Fleming's
  • Boise, June 18th, Murphy's Seafood and Steakhouse
  • Portland, June 24th, Wildwood Restaurant
  • Seattle, June 25th, Metropolitan Grill
  • Salt Lake City, July 8th, The Point Restaurant at the Huntsman Cancer Institute
  • Spokane, July 8th, The Davenport Hotel
  • Thousand Oaks, July 9th, Westlake Village Inn
  • Denver, July 9th, Strings Restaurant

Developed with diabetes expert Helena W. Rodbard, MD, FACP, MACE, these complimentary workshops are part of a larger certified initiative, Performance Improvement Strategies: Diabetes Care. Physicians can earn 20 AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM while meeting guidelines-based performance benchmarks across the spectrum of diabetes care. The initiative will include 2 newsletters, 12 interactive Webcasts, 3 interactive guides with tools to improve patient care, a patient education Web site, and a variety of additional resources to help clinicians improve their performance, and, by extension, diabetes patient care. Primary care professionals will be notified as these activities become available.

Due to the popularity of these workshops and limited seating, all interested participants must register in advance. For more details or to register during business hours, call 866 858 7434, e-mail info@med-iq.com, or visit www.performanceimprovement-iq.com/diabetes2.
