BALTIMORE, Md.—May 8, 2009—Fifty continuing medical education (CME/CE) dinner workshops are being developed by Med-IQ in collaboration with The Endocrine Society to help primary care professionals address regional barriers to delivering optimal diabetes patient care. The workshops will be delivered in major and mid-level metropolitan areas across the United States.
Developed with diabetes expert Helena W. Rodbard, MD, FACP, MACE, these complimentary workshops are part of a larger certified initiative, Performance Improvement Strategies: Diabetes Care. Physicians can earn 20 AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM while meeting guidelines-based performance benchmarks across the spectrum of diabetes care. The initiative will include 2 newsletters, 12 interactive Webcasts, 3 interactive guides with tools to improve patient care, a patient education Web site, and a variety of additional resources to help clinicians improve their performance, and, by extension, diabetes patient care. Primary care professionals will be notified as these activities become available.
