MDS represents a heterogeneous group of bone marrow disorders that primarily affect older patients. According to estimates, more than 10,000 new MDS cases are diagnosed each year, and this number is expected to rise substantially as the US population ages.

This AMA-standardized, three-stage performance improvement (PI) CME initiative was developed to help you implement guideline-based processes of care for patients with MDS, with special emphasis on patient evaluation and disease classification, evidence-based surveillance and supportive care, and evidence-based treatment.
