Frequently Used Terms

Benchmarks: Standards of care for ACS patients, as defined by the 2007 ACC/AHA updated treatment guidelines for management of STEMI and UA/NSTEMI. This initiative focuses on three benchmark areas: risk assessment, initial pharmacologic management, and door-to-needle/door-to-transfer times.

Video-Enhanced ACS Articles: Three online, interactive articles that explain and provide strategies for meeting ACS benchmarks. These articles provide relevant guideline updates and reinforce benchmark areas through discussion points and video segments with expert faculty commentary.

Community of Practice Audioconferences: Three live, 30-minute interactive audioconferences with expert faculty and peers. These audioconferences will address ACS process barriers and benchmarks for the treatment of STEMI and UA/NSTEMI. Participants may submit questions in advance, or they may ask questions live on the phone to receive immediate answers from faculty.
