Course Overview
Patient-Clinician Perspectives on Insulin Therapy and the Role of Insulin Pens in Type 2 Diabetes: Current Evidence and Frontline Discussions
Overview: The American Association of Diabetes Educators (AADE) and Med-IQ are collaborating to offer this online text activity as part of a broad-reaching educational initiative to bring primary healthcare professionals and patients together for an exchange of perspectives on perceptions and barriers related to initiating insulin and using insulin pens in the management of type 2 diabetes. This activity is also designed to help formulate strategies to support the appropriate implementation of these devices into practice, foster effective communication to help overcome psychological insulin resistance, and reinforce patient and physician acceptance of this treatment modality.
As an extension of the live workshop series, this activity incorporates frontline perspectives and key teaching points from nationally recognized experts in diabetes, certified diabetes educators, and patients with diabetes.
