Med-IQ.
Inspiring Medical Education.

BALTIMORE, MD—September 4, 2014—Med-IQ, an award-winning, ACCME-accredited provider of continuing medical education (CME), invites oncologists to read the CME-certified online publication, The Evolving State of the Art for the Management of Advanced Gastric Cancer: Emerging Science and Expert Perspectives.

Gastric cancer is often not diagnosed until it has progressed to an advanced, incurable stage. Because of this dismal prognosis, and a shortage of current standard-of-care regimens, there are wide practice variations among oncologists who manage this condition. Currently, several clinical trials investigating molecularly targeted therapies, alone and in combination with chemotherapy, are either underway or drawing to completion. As new evidence emerges on novel treatment approaches, oncologists strive to stay abreast of that evidence to better help manage their patients with advanced gastric cancer.

“This educational activity is designed to enhance oncologists’ understanding of the clinical rationale for the development of novel targeted agents in advanced gastric cancer,” said Charles S. Fuchs, MD, MPH, professor of medicine at the Harvard Medical School in Boston, MA. “It also highlights various ways in which recent therapeutic advances may be best incorporated into patient care as they become available.”
